Tourist attractions

The main tourist attraction inside the Piatra Craiului National Park is the Piatra Craiului Massif itself. The massif is spectacular and well known in Romania and even abroad and has been described by generations of mountaineers.

The park is crossed by a number of 30 tourist trails leading the tourists to several beautiful areas: The Zarnesti Gorges, Cerdacul Stanciului, Zaplaz, Dambovicioara Cave, etc.

The outstanding rich flora, including the species Dianthus callizonus - unique in the world, the wild fauna including the chamois and the large carnivores - the symbol of unaltered nature - which have disappeared from most of the European countries, the traditional lifestyle in the areas neighbouring the massif, all of these and much more form the complex diversity of the Piatra Craiului National Park.
