Piatra Craiului National Park and the Natura 2000 sites ROSCI0194 Piatra Craiului and ROSPA0165 Piatra Craiului are located in the Brasov and Arges counties, over areas belonging to the town of Zarnesti, Moeciu commune with the Magura and Pestera villages, Bran, Rucar, Dambovivioara and Dragoslavele communes.

The national park lays around latitude 450 28’ N and longitude 250 16’ E.
The total area of the park is 14766 ha, with 53% ha in Brasov County and 47% in Arges County.
The N2000 ROSCI0194 Piatra Craiului has 15867.04 ha, of which 12834.9 is overlapping with the park area. It is totally overlapping with the ROSPA0165 Piatra Craiului.

The main national park entrance points are Zarnesti in the Northern part, trough Barsa Valley and Zarnesti Gorges and Podul Dambovitei in the South, for Dambovita and Dambovicioara valleys.
